Melt away cookies are so simple to make and taste amazing.

These cookies come from my mother’s side of the family, from my grandma Lillian Liga. They are really easy to make with very few ingredients – and are a crowd favorite.

To Make:

In a medium sized bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter, 1/3 cup of powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Get it good and creamy.

Add in the dry ingredients, 3/4 cup cornstarch and 1 cup of flour. Mix well.

Form the cookies into 1 inch balls and drop onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes until are lightly golden on the bottoms.

Remove to a rack to cool before frosting.


Frosting:

In a separate small bowl, mix 2 tsp of melted butter with 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Add 2 tbsp of milk for consistency, using more as necessary.

Frost tops of cookies and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles.

Method

  3. 1 tsp vanilla
